What to lay out before applying a set.
  1. Wash hands and push back cuticles.
  2. Buff the nail surface lightly and wipe with alcohol to remove oils.
  3. Lay out the tips and pick a size for each finger before you start.

Apply with adhesive tabs

Adhesive tabs: press each tip down from the cuticle end.
  1. Peel a tab and press it onto the natural nail.
  2. Remove the top film.
  3. Press the tip on at the cuticle edge, then down to the free edge, and hold for 20–30 seconds.

Apply with nail glue

  2. Press the tip on at an angle from the cuticle edge and hold for 20–30 seconds.
  3. Avoid water for the first hour.

Nail glue for press-on nails: glue or adhesive tabs?

General guide; wear time depends on nail prep, daily wear and the products used.

Use a glue made for nails, in a thin layer — too much glue spreads under the tip and makes removal harder. Many of our styles list jelly adhesive tabs or nail glue; the style page shows which.

Can you wear press-on nails with no glue?

Yes — jelly adhesive tabs are the usual no-glue option. They hold for a shorter time than glue but come off more easily, which suits first-time wearers and short occasions.

For the best hold without glue, prep the nail well (buff and wipe with alcohol), choose the right size so the tab covers the nail, and press firmly for 20–30 seconds.

How to remove press-on nails safely

Soaking press-on nails in warm soapy water to remove them
Soak in warm soapy water with a little cuticle oil before lifting.
  1. Soak fingertips in warm soapy water (a few drops of cuticle oil help) for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Gently lift each tip from the sides with a cuticle stick.
  3. If a tip resists, soak again — never pry or peel.
  4. Buff away leftover adhesive and moisturise.

Can press-on nails be reused?

Tips removed gently and cleaned of adhesive can often be worn again, especially when they were applied with tabs. How many times depends on the tips, the adhesive and how carefully they were removed.

Frequently asked questions

How do you take off press-on nails without damaging your nails?

Soak in warm soapy water with a little oil for 10–15 minutes, then lift from the sides with a cuticle stick. Re-soak any tip that resists instead of pulling.

Glue or adhesive tabs — which is better?

Tabs are quicker and gentler to remove, good for short wear; glue holds longer. Many of our styles list jelly adhesive tabs or nail glue — check each style page.

How long do press-on nails last?

It depends on the adhesive, nail prep and daily wear; glue generally holds longer than tabs. Good prep makes the biggest difference.
